WE ALL NEED HELP WITH OUR BASSLINES. EVENTHOUGH I LEARNED HOW TO PLAY THE BASS AT A YOUNG AGE I STILL STRUGGLED WHEN I FIST STARTED OUT ON A BEATMACHINE. SO I THOUGHT I GIVE BACK SO OTHERS CAN LEARN FROM SOME OF THE TUTORIALS WHO MADE MY LIFE A BIT EASIER.
HOW TO CREATE A BASSLINE WITH ANY DRUMMACHINE
Here is a great tutorial about "how to create a bassline on a MPC" by JFilth. His method for making a bassline on a MPC can be applied on any drum maschine that has 16 pads. So Maschine/MPD/Trigger Finger user take notice.
Without any music theory you will understand it. He has 4 different tutorials on bassline where he discusses different scales you can use.
For finding the rootnote of your key of your sample so you can play the bass. Check out this article "How to find the root note/bass note of your sample"

Bass God, Bootsy Collins (Former member of: James Brown band/Funkadelics) explains his Bassline Formula. It's a formula based on playing Bassnote the 1st kick drum. And playing adding the funky notes in between. It's a short but interesting clip to watch.
